LOW PLOUGHLANDS

Low Ploughlands is a typical Cumbrian 19th Century Farmstead. At the heart of the steading stands Low Ploughlands barn at nearly 30 metres in length. The barn was originally constructed in the early 19th Century using the traditional local red sandstone known as ‘Brockram’. It was designed to fulfil a variety of functions including storage, grain processing and the housing of animals which is evident from the large loading doors for sheaves of straw and ventilation slits for the keeping of animals.

The barn was last used in agriculture in the late 1980’s as an extension to a dairy farm. In February 2014, works started to convert the barn into two 4 bed high quality holiday lettings, set in the form of the original building.

Low Ploughlands aims to provide the ideal combination of luxury, fun and relaxation. It will be ideal for families, groups or those seeking somewhere private, but with great access within the most natural of locations – the beautiful Eden Valley, Cumbria.
